Pearl Shirley Banks, of Bushy Hill Road, Simsbury, widow of Morris Banks died Saturday, (March 29, 2008). Born in Hartford she was a graduate of Central Connecticut State Teachers College and had worked at Eleanor Rose Dress Shop in Farmington and at the D&L Department Store in Simsbury. She is survived by two sons, Marc Banks and his wife, Joyce of Simsbury, Craig Banks and his wife, Barbara of South Windsor; a daughter, Tammy Banks-Spooner; and granddaughter, Marissa Spooner of Simsbury; two brothers, Louis Shinder of Laguna Woods, CA James Shinder of Waco, TX; a sister, Marty Shinder of Bloomfield; three step grandchildren, Thomas, Patricia and Christine and four step great grandchildren, Amanda, Christopher, Kerry and Christy. She was predeceased by a daughter, Roxann Joy Banks and sons, Gary Scott Banks and Jeffry Neal Banks. Funeral Services will be Monday 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary 640 Farmington Ave., with burial in the Jewish War Veteran Cemetery; Hartford. A memorial period will be observed following the funeral on Monday at the home of Marc and Joyce Banks, 11 Lincoln Lane, Simsbury.
