Obituary

Pearl Trachtenroth, 102 years of age, of West Hartford, died on May 6, 2017. Pearl graduated from Weaver High School and went on to work as an assistant bookkeeper. She was working on Windsor Street in Hartford during both the floods and hurricanes. She gave her time as a Red Cross Nurse Volunteer at Mitchel House in Frog Hollow, playing piano and singing and helping in any way she could. After the war was over, Pearl joined the Business and Professional group of Hadassah and in her time there, held every office including President for 3 years. She went on to work as the bookkeeper for the Economy Oil, Gas & Plumbing Company for 26 years. She leaves her nephew Joel Gothold of West Hartford, CT. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT.

My father was one of the owners of Economy Oil and I remember Pearl working at the company. She was always cheerful and kind, and a hard worker.
