Philip Greenbaum, 93, of Sky View Dr., West Hartford died Sunday, October 15, 2006. He was the husband of the late Rosalyn (Ascher) Greenbaum. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late David and Anna (Baumel) Greenbaum. He graduated from Weaver High School in Hartford where he lettered in football, basketball and baseball. Because of his athletic accomplishments, he was elected by the Jewish Historical Society of Greater Hartford to the Hall of Fame for greater Hartford Jewish athlete and sports figures, November 17, 1997. He was a US Army veteran of World War II. Philip worked for the US Postal Service and was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. He leaves two sons, Stephen J. Greenbaum and his wife Kyle of Newington, and David P. Greenbaum of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Angela Yeh and her husband Stephen, Scott Greenbaum, and Jason Greenbaum; three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Alexander and Sabrina Yeh; a brother, Harold Greenbaum and his wife Marjorie of Naples, FL; two sisters, Sylvia Novarr and her husband Leo of Bloomfield, and Dora Greenbaum of West Hartford; and his caregiver, Beverly Pakuikia. He was predeceased by two brothers, Jack S. Greenbaum, and Sy Greenbaum, and two sisters, Reeva Ledewitz and Lillian Krumholz. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with interment in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, Garden St., Hartford. A Memorial Period will be observed at his home, 11 Sky View Dr., West Hartford, Wednesday following the funeral.
