Philip Y. Robbin, 74, of West Hartford died Wednesday, (August 9, 2006) at home. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Elisha and Sophia (Cooper) Robbin. He attended the University of Connecticut and received a degree from the Hartford School of Business. Philip was a manager of the Bureau of ‘Rights of Way’ for the State of Connecticut. He was a member of Beth Hillel Synagogue of Bloomfield. Philip was a deeply caring family man, and his hobbies which he immensely enjoyed including woodworking and golf. He leaves his wife, Merna (Morgenstein) Robbin; a son, Bruce C. Robbin and his wife Jody of South Windsor; a daughter, Carol Laufer and her husband Frank of New York, NY; four grandchildren, Tammy and Emily Robbin, and Trevor and Lauren Laufer; and a brother, Harvey Robbin and his wife Carol of West Hartford. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 11, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Gary Atkins and Rabbi Philip Lazowski officiating. Interment will follow in Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, East Granby. A memorial period will be observed at his home, 28 Harwich Lane, West Hartford 06117 Friday following the funeral, Saturday evening through Sunday evening.
