It is with deep love and profound grief that we announce the passing of our aunt, Phyllis R Cherlin, beloved wife of the late Robert R Cherlin for 66 incredible years. Theirs was a love that defied the passage of time, “if ever two were one, then surely we”…They set an extraordinary example of love, devotion and respect for each other. She will be remembered for her great caring and kindness to all who were fortunate to know her . Phyllis worked for 40 years at Exxon Mobil Corporate. Together they were 6o year members of Beth Israel Synagogue. Phyllis and Bob loved to travel and spend special times with their extended family. She was predeceased by her sister Mickey Tucker, her sisters and brothers in law, Al and Bea Cherlin, Estelle and Dan Cherlin, Betty and George Cherlin, and Martin Cherlin. She survived by brother in law, Sy Tucker and sister in law, Norma Cherlin. Her cherished and devoted nieces and nephews, Ronna (Mark) Siegal, Wendy (David) Savin, Larry (Linda) Tucker, Jamie (Carrie) Cherlin, Janet (Larry) Wasserberger, Donna Cherlin, Emily Cherlin, Vicki (Joel) Flora, Edward (Sue) Cherlin, Phillip (Simona) Cherlin, Roseanne Cherrick, Andrew (Cindy) Cherlin. And many adoring great and great grand nieces and nephews. Phyllis was so appreciative of her dear friend and doctor, Jack Schmetterling and his nurse, Sherry Goldberg for their loving care and friendship. The family would like to thank Elizabeth Kariuki for her exceptional loving care.
Funeral services will be graveside at the Fairview Cemetery 200 Whitman Ave West Hartford, TODAY, November 29, 2016 at 1:00 PM. A gathering will be held immediately following the burial at Brookdale Chatfield, 1 Chatfield Dr. West Hartford until 4:00 PM. Services will be held at 7:00 PM in apartment 206 at Chatfield. Donations may be made to Congregation Beth Israel, 701 Farmington Ave, West Hartford, CT 06119, or to the donor’s choice.
