R. Reuben Rapport, 94, of West Hartford died Friday, February 16, 2007 at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington four days before his 95th birthday. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Samuel and Rose (Klein) Rapport. He graduated Hartford Public High School, graduated from Yale University 1933, and received a Graduate Degree from Columbia University, School of Business. He was a practicing Certified Public Accountant in his own firm for over 50 years in Hartford. He was a member of Congregation Beth Israel, West Hartford; founding member of Cliffside Country Club, Simsbury; 50-year member of AICPA; and member of the West Hartford Regents. He married his life long sweetheart, Laura Max, 72 years ago. Besides his wife he leaves two daughters: Z. Riki Brodey and her husband James of West Hartford, and Eve Tarre and her husband Jerry of West Simsbury; four grandchildren: Andrew Brodey and his wife Eugenia Erlij of Columbus, OH, Denise Brodey-Kesssler and her husband Jeffrey of Brooklyn, NY, Roger Tarre and his wife Nancy of Wolcott and David Tarre of Washington, DC. He also leaves his four cherished great grandchildren: Emily and Tobias Kessler and Ariel and Ezra Brodey. The family is deeply appreciative of the loving care he received from Carnetta Ellis and her daughter Andrea. They have become an integral part of our family. We are also appreciative of the services of the VNA who always came through for the family. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 18, 2007 at 2:30 PM at Congregation Beth Israel, 701 Farmington Ave., West Hartford with Rabbi Michael Pincus officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth Israel Cemetery, Avon. A memorial period will be observed at his home, 33 Apple Hill Rd., West Hartford, Sunday following the funeral and Monday from 3-8 PM.
