Reine T. Goldwasser, 61, of Bristol, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2024. Born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Goldwasser and Elsie (Stein) Goldwasser.
She was a sweet, kind-hearted soul who always saw the best in everything and everyone; her infectious personality could make anyone smile and laugh. She perfected the gift of gab and the art of shopping. She loved her friends and family with all her heart. Reine was an avid Patriot fan and, much to the shock of her brother, a Red Sox fan. She especially loved watching her friend’s children play softball, baseball, and football. She was simply their number-one fan.
She graduated from Bristol Eastern High School and Eastern Connecticut State University.
A Customer Service Representative known to her co-workers as “Reen-bean,” she was a long-time employee of Cigna Healthcare.
A loving sister, sister-in-law, aunt, grand-aunt, and devoted friend, she leaves to mourn her brother Marvin “Mickey” Goldwasser and his wife Lisa of Bristol; her niece Erin Young and her husband Joe of Bristol; her grand-niece Emma and grand-nephew Jacob Young. She also leaves her special extended family of Pete, Dorothy, Ashley, and Brody Serafin, whom she loved dearly. She will be missed by all.
The family expresses its deep appreciation to the dedicated and caring Serafin family, members of Reine’s medical team, and the Bristol Police Department for their kindness.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 16th, at 3:00 pm at the gravesite at Hartford Society Memorial Park Cemetery at 74 Wolcott Road, Simsbury, CT, with Rabbi Jeffrey Bennett officiating.
A private period of mourning will be observed by the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Exchange Club of Bristol Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 9324, Bristol, CT 06011-9324.
Life is so precious, and it can change in an instant.
