Rita Klineberg Baver, 96, died peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 1, 2011. She was predeceased by her husband, Nathan Baver, a pharmacist and founder of the Champlain Drug Store and her son, Alan Baver, a high school teacher in East Hartford. One of five children, Rita was born in Leeds, England. She was the daughter of the late Harry Klineberg and Esther (Schifman) Klineberg. A resident of Hartford and West Hartford for 92 years, Rita graduated from Weaver High School. Her life revolved around her family and her home, always a warm and welcoming environment to all.
She is survived by her son Jeffrey Baver & his wife Maureen Moriarty, and her grandchildren, Stephanie Baver Kexel, Jeremy Baver, Esq., Moriah Moriarty, Tom Kexel, and Katherine Hanley. She cherished her family and leaves several nieces and nephews including Karen & Ron Bowen, and long-time friend Karen Eisenstein.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday February 3, 2011 at 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, CT. Interment, with Rabbi Donna Berman officiating, will take place at 11:30 a.m., Friday February 4, 2011 at the Hartford City Lodge Cemetery, 401 Tower Ave., Hartford, CT.
