conversations over the telephone, and a few times meeting her was all it took to know her kindness and pure heart. A very special lady that I'm sure was loved by all who were fortunate to have known her.
Born in Hartford, she lived in Crystal Lake and then Hartford, before moving to the “country” in Windsor Locks. She was the daughter of the late Samuel and Celia Lipman. Ruth graduated from Rockville High School and worked as a secretary at Aetna Life Insurance Company for 16 years.
Along with her beloved husband Saul, Ruth was very involved in the Windsor Locks Lions Club for 49 years and enjoyed travelling to conventions all over the world. She volunteered in the local Red Cross Office and was a Past President of the Windsor Locks Nursing Association. She was an avid tap dancer, loved to read, cook, entertain and work as a wedding coordinator with her husband who officiated many weddings. Ruth loved hosting holidays in her home and spending time with her children, grandchildren, extended family and many friends.
She leaves her daughter Shelley G. Gaidos and her husband Webster of Bolton, MA; son, Edward Goldfarb and his wife Elizabeth of Hingham, MA; six grandchildren, Drew and his wife Alexandra Goldfarb, Jamison Goldfarb, Chad Goldfarb, Lauren Goldfarb, and Kayla Gaidos; and a special nephew and niece, Malcolm and Brenda Berman and their family of West Hartford as well as her best friend and sister-in-law Mary Lipman of Bloomfield.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, Saul Goldfarb and her 7 brothers and sisters: Clara Dickstein, Murray Lipman, Rose Gold, Lou Lipman, Francis Breslau, Ralph Lipman, George Lipman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday April 25th at 11:00am at a graveside service at Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, East Granby.

To Shelly, Eddie, Malcolm Berman and Families; , In tribute to Ruth Goldfarb. What an outstanding, caring and fun loving woman. She had the capacity to pass this on to all she met. Harriet and I so enjoyed our relationship with she and Saul as we traveled many roads and miles through Lionism. I will certainly miss her as I know you will. Rest in Peace Sweet Ruth.

I have the fondest memories of growing up next door to the Goldfarb family. We were close friends through good times and bad. They were a wonderful bright spot in the lives of my family. What a great neighborhood at Fern St. and Ahern Ave. I have so many great memories I could write a book!!!
