Ruth Sudarsky Wortman of Manchester, CT previously of West Hartford, passed away Monday, March 31 at the age of 93. Born on May 21,1920, she was a graduate of Weaver High School and the University of Connecticut. As a Registered Dietitian Ruth worked for St Francis Hospital, was Chief Dietitian at Springfield Hospital and taught nutrition at The New Britain General Hospital School of Nursing, a job she adored. Ruth and her beloved husband, Isadore (deceased) moved to Lake Worth, Florida in 1980 where they enjoyed their retirement. While in Florida she was president of ORT of Lake Worth, a world-wide organization that provides rehabilitation through cutting-edge education. In 2007 Ruth moved back to Connecticut and was a resident at the Arbors of Manchester. She was an avid bridge player and an ardent dog lover. Ruth enjoyed knitting hats for children in need, reading, ice cream and a good cold glass of beer. Ruth inspired everyone she met with her enjoyment of life, spontaneity, sense of humor, warmth, kindness and most of all her inner strength. Ruth leaves behind her beloved brother David Sudarsky, two children: Rachel Wortman of Campobello, SC, Peter Wortman and wife Joyce, and grandson David DiLoreto of Glastonbury CT; nieces and nephews: Deborah Sudarsky Wherry of Brooklyn, NY, Betty Sudarsky Bradley, John Rudy and Lewis Sudarsky of Boston. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to ORT America or a charity of the donor’s choice . There will be a graveside service Thursday, April 3 at 11:30 at Beth El Temple Cemetery, 51 Jackson St, Avon, CT
