Samuel Leonard Joseph, 13, of Harvest Lane, West Hartford, beloved son of Douglas A. and Katalin (Preier) Joseph, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008. He was born in El Paso, TX. A student at Sedgwick Middle School, he previously attended Bristow Middle School, Bugbee Elementary School, and the Jewish Community Center pre-school, all in West Hartford. He celebrated his Bar Mitzvah with his sister Michelle in November of 2007. Samuel attended Temple Sinai Religious School and Yachad the Greater Hartford Jewish Community High School. He collected baseball cards and loved video games. His friends were very special to him and he enjoyed spending time with them. He enjoyed listening to music, and playing the drums. He also enjoyed skateboarding, and this winter discovered snowboarding. He loved his dog, Cristy and his bearded dragon, Tony. Besides his parents, he leaves his sisters: Michelle Shaina Joseph and Natalie Ilana Joseph; his maternal grandfather Wilhelm Preier of Riverside, CT; and his aunt Leslie Joseph of San Diego, CA; as well as many cousins around the world. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Eleonore Preier and his paternal grandparents Leonard and Mildred Joseph. Funeral services are private. A Memorial Period will be observed at his home on Sunday and Monday from 1:00 PM with services at 7:00 PM.
