I was very saddened to learn of Sam's passing and send my heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

Sam was a regular attendee to the healing circles I hosted at LaGuardia Community College/CUNY and was beloved my every participant of the circle. No matter the weather, Sam would diligently travel from Manhattan to Long Island City in Queens to attend, participate, and share his deep and gracious wisdom. He always had a plastic container of Hersey Kisses to share and, upon request, would revel us with a song from a bygone era that was dear to him and brought smiles to our faces.

The circles ceased last Spring in order for me to prepare for my retirement from the college. I plan to resume the circles this year and had hoped Sam would join us. While not in his gallant physical form, I know he will join us in spirit.

I wish Sam a calm and gentle transition and to his family the abundance of deep peace during this period of mourning.

Sincerely,
Tony Allicino

I met Sam at Maggie Newman's T'ai Chi camp back around 2000. I enjoyed knowing him only at camp for maybe 2 or 3 years. I immediately took a liking to him I found him to be a kind, playful, creative man. I would have known him better if I was nearer. I'm grateful to have known him then. Blessings to all his loved ones.
