Obituary

Saul Newman, 81, of Milford, passed away surrounded by his family Sunday, February 26, 2017. Born on July 21, 1935 in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Sidney and Fanny Newman. For the past 45 years he resided in Milford. A graduate of the Manhattan High School of Aviation, he worked for Sikorsky Aircraft for 44 Years as a Crew Chief until his retirement in 1999. He is survived by his daughter Susan (Newman) Cohn and her husband Samuel Cohn and their children, Joshua and Sarah of West Hartford; his son Brian Newman and his significant other, Mary-Ellen Bostic and his children Rebecca and Harrison of West Hartford; his daughter Beverly Newman of Milford; and his son Jason Newman and his wife Christine Newman and their child David of West Hartford, as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Linda (Most), and brothers Julius Newman and Seymour Newman. The Family wishes to thank the entire staff of Milford Hospital for their special loving care. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 1 at 11:00 am, at The Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford, with Rabbi David J. Small officiating. Interment will follow at the Emanuel Cemetery in Wethersfield . A Memorial Period will be observed at the home of Brian Newman. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Milford Hospital or The Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery Fund, 160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford.
