Selma Neckrich Field, 98, beloved wife for seventy-five years to Arnold Field, peacefully passed away, Saturday, November 14, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born November 6, 1917 in Norwich, CT, she was the daughter of Harry and Esther Neckrich. She graduated with high honors from Weaver High School in 1935. Subsequently she worked in G. Fox & Co. and was the bookkeeper for her husband Arnold, owner of Field’s Service Center for many years. She is survived by her husband Arnold, her son Attorney Gerald Field and his wife Sarah of West Hartford, CT and her son Dr. Barry Field and his wife Julie of Riverdale, N.Y. and grandchildren Jessica and her husband Brian Macharelli, Aaron, Rachel, Hannah, and Miles Field and great-granddaughter Milania. Selma was predeceased by her sister Edith Zubrow. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Abe Zubrow and many loving nieces and nephews. Selma was always incredibly devoted to her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She had enjoyed for many years playing canasta and mahjong with her clubs, attending sisterhood, Hadassah, B’Nai B’rith and SES meetings at the JCC with her husband, trips with their clubs, Ocean Beach, and of course, babysitting her grandchildren. The family would like to thank Halina for her loving care of Selma over the last few years. A graveside ceremony will be held at Beth Hillel Cemetery, Wolcott Road, East Granby, CT at 1:30 pm Sunday, November 15, 2015. Following the ceremony, Shiva will be held Sunday at the home of Attorney Gerald Field, 93 Parsons Dr., West Hartford, CT.
