Statement by Sy: I wish everyone to know that I was the luckiest and happiest man alive. I was brought up by strong parents in a loving hard-working family. I met, courted and married the love of my life, Annette. Together we had wonderful children and from them exceptional grandchildren. I was able to practice accounting on the highest level thanks to my professional colleagues. I had a lifetime of friends that I could laugh and enjoy life with. I was blessed. THANK YOU GOD. Dear Mrs. Gavens and family:

I was so sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Gavens. You were both so very kind to my parents when my Mom was sick and to my father after she passed away. I know my parents were so very fond of you both, you were such wonderful friends and neighbors. I know my father enjoyed chatting with Seymour about sports and especially about Sy's beloved UConn Huskies. My sincerest condolences.
