Steinberg

Obituary

Sharon Bernice Steinberg, nee Yusba, aged 61, passed away in Hartford, CT on December 23, 2007 after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her mother Hannah Yusba of Brooklyn, NY; her son Casey Steinberg of Amherst, MA; and her sister Roberta Yusba of San Francisco, CA. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Sharon lived in Monterey, MA and West Hartford, CT before moving to Bloomfield, CT. Sharon was passionate about her research work at the Connecticut Historical Society, teaching literature classes at Tunxis Community College, her book groups, and her artistic pursuits. We will always carry with us her energy, attitude, drive for knowledge, and generosity. Her beautiful spirit will live on in our hearts and she will be dearly missed. Sharon had a talent for recognizing the significance, beauty and meaning of the things that crossed her path. She was a great lover of books and social history, and her walls of books attest to this. Thank you to her loving friends who supported her through the trying times of her illness. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 28th at 10am in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Jeffery Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Bloomfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations to CHS, Wintonbury Historical Society or any Cancer Foundation of your choice would be appreciated.
