Obituary

Shirley (Kollman) Stein, 78, of Boynton Beach, FL passed away on April 27, 2017. Born in Pittsfield, MA on May 30, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Lena Kollman. She graduated from Weaver High School in 1956 and married her husband of 57 years in 1959. She raised her family in Newington, CT and worked as a bookkeeper. Shirley was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved to travel and socialize and had an artistic side – enjoying painting, decorating and performing in shows at her local temple. She leaves her husband, Frederick Stein; her son, Jeffrey Stein and his wife Linda of Avon, CT; her daughter Lauren Lazzaro and her husband James of Marietta, GA; her sister Miriam Singer of West Hartford, CT; and four grandchildren, Ariel, Samantha, Jake and Matthew. Funeral services will be held on May 2nd at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT. Interment will follow in Congregation B’nai Shalom Memorial Park, Jordan Lane Ext., Wethersfield, CT. Following the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at the home of Jeff and Linda Stein, 27 Lenox Drive, Avon, CT. Shiva (memorial observance) will be held that evening at Jeff & Linda’s house from 6pm to 9pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation or the charity of your choice. Dear Fred, Jeff , Lauren & entire family,
It's hard to believe that we'll see you in a few days in Ct to say a final goodbye to our dear friend Shirley. We are so very sorry for your loss and send our deepest sympathy & condolences to you.
