Sigmund E. Kei, PE, 80, of ALS, (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Survived by wife Harriet, sons Neil (Maria), Dr. Stephen (Barbara), and daughter Leslie Kei Rahn (Jeffrey), and grandchildren Nathan and Rebecca Kei, Erica Kei, Elise Kei Rahn, Jordan A. Kei Rahn, and Jamon Rahn. Sigmund served in the U.S. Navy as a Damage Control Officer during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was an accomplished violinist. Sigmund was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. Sigmund was a successful self-employed Professional Engineer who continued to practice until age 79. Sigmund was a man of strength, integrity, and creativity who customized his home of 52 years. Sigmund and his wife traveled the world extensively. Everything he did in life, was done with integrity, honor, and a deep sense of commitment. Sigmund was a pillar of stability and strength for his wife of 56 years and for his family. Sigmund will be sorely missed by his family, his considerable circle of friends, and by the community. Funeral service will take place on Monday, February 26 at 11 a.m. at Congregation Beth Israel, 701 Farmington Ave., Hartford.
