Obituary

COHN, Solon C. Solon C. Cohn, 76 of Newington, CT passed away on Thursday, (October 10, 2013) after a short illness. He was born in Hartford, attended Weaver High and Dean Junior College. He was a Title Inspector at the Motor Vehicle Department for 31 yrs. Son of the late Samuel H. and Nettie (Gold) Cohn. He leaves his loving wife of 50 yrs. Maxine Silverman Cohn, a daughter Shari Del Buono, and her husband Joseph and two cherished grandchildren Chase and Courtney. Predeceased by siblings Maicla Cohn Weinstein, Max Cohn, Rose Cohn Levin and Nephew Alan Cohn. He leaves his loving Nieces Reba Nassau (Arthur), Nanette Levin, Dalida Silverman, Nephews Robert Cohn (Judy) and Marcus Silverman. He was active in his Synagogue’s Brotherhood and Men’s Club for many years. The family would like to say a big thank you to Hamilton Heights of West Hartford and aide Helina for providing compassionate care. There will be a graveside service on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Congregation B’nai Sholom Cemetery, 1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield, CT. 06109. In his memory, donations may be made to St. Francis Cancer Fund, 95 Woodland Street, Hartford, CT 06105 or B’nai Sholom Synagogue, 180 Still Road, Bloomfield, CT 06002. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary.

We have known Solon sine Weaver Hi days and always knew what a wonderful man he was. Working at the synagogue in Brotherhood for many years brings memories of the :good ole days:. Solon could always be counted on when called upon. Our condolences to his entire family. May he rest in peace.
