LEBETKIN, Sonia (Carroll) Lebetkin, 87, of West Hartford died Sunday, October 21, 2007. She was the widow of George Lebetkin. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Sidney A. and Minnie (Rachlin) Carroll. Sonia was a librarian at the Hartford Public Library for 50 years, retiring in 1986. She also was a librarian at Congregation Beth Israel and she did volunteer work at the Hebrew Home & Hospital in West Hartford. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel of West Hartford, a member of the Congregation?s Sisterhood, and a member of Hadassah. She leaves two sons, Edward H. Lebetkin and his wife Mary Alice of Chapel Hill, NC, and Dr. Lewis M. Lebetkin and his wife Corynne of Roslyn, NY; four grandchildren, Elena A. Lebetkin, Mark S. Lebetkin, Alan D. Lebetkin, and Julia R. Lebetkin; nieces, Janet Zipser of Arlington, VA, Trudy Kaufman Janata of San Diego, CA, Sharon Tatelman of CA; and nephews Michael Zipser of Vienna, VA, Ronald Kaufman of NJ, Lewis Lebetkin of Israel. She was predeceased by her sister, Ruby Zipser. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Stephen Fuchs officiating. Interment will follow in Beth Israel Cemetery, Avon.
