Victor Barry Freedman, 54 years of age, of Woodland St., Hartford, husband of Louise (Golfieri) Freedman, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Bernard and Gloria (Weiss) Freedman. He graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a BA Degree in Marketing. He worked in the financial planning and benefits area for 26 years. Victor was a visionary individual, possessed an incredible sense of humor, and lived his life with complete optimism. He treasured his family: he loved and was especially loved by his nieces and nephews with whom he had a very special bond.
He leaves his best friend, his wife, Louise, and two nephews Jason and Benjamin Gutcheon. He also leaves sisters-in-law: Hope Zitka and her husband Ed and Josephine McConkey and her husband John; brothers-in-law: Amedio Golfieri and his wife Donna and James Golfieri, all of West Springfield, MA, brother-in-law Joel Barry Chase of Natick, MA; nieces and nephews: Andrea and Toni Golfieri, Alicia and Eddie Zitka, and Jeffrey McConkey; and special friends: Robert and Daisy Coletti of Hartford, Jean Rivard of Windsor Locks, Mike DaPice of Canton, and Aroxy Merigian of West Springfield, MA, all of whom were very special to him and who were always there for him. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Ann Freedman Chase.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 24, 2011 at 1:30 PM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with interment following in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 659 Tower Ave., 1st Floor, Hartford 06112, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
