Adam Leshem, 77, husband of Osnat Alice Leshem, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2020. Adam was born in the Spring of 1942 in the former USSR to Ze’ev and Dora Leshchinsky. His mother passed shortly after his birth and his father soon remarried Frieda, who lovingly raised Adam and to whom he developed a bond as close as any son could. After surviving the Holocaust and spending his first six years living in various displaced persons (DP) camps in postwar Europe, Adam entered Israel in 1948, shortly after Independence. In his beloved Israel, Adam and his family were able to rebuild their lives, and he served his country honorably in the Israeli Air Force through both peacetime and wartime. He met the love of his life, Alice, when they were both teenagers, and was married to her for 55 wonderful years. Adam and his young family arrived in the United States in 1968, and he soon after obtained an engineering degree before proceeding to a distinguished career in the nuclear field that led to 9 patents. During this time, he and Alice also started a business, Lesro Industries, which became a full-time endeavor for him. In time, Lesro grew into a successful business that Adam and his family worked at together for almost 50 years.
Adam is survived by his wife Alice, son Jerry and his wife Elaine of West Hartford, son Ed and his wife Jannine of Simsbury, and son Steven and his wife Moira of West Hartford. He was also blessed with 11 grandchildren: Jake, Ariel, Joshua, AJ, Ethan, Talia, Ava, Anya, Orla, Elsa and Iris. Of all his various successes, he was most proud of being a great Saba (Grandfather). He will be missed by so many friends and loved ones who deeply respected him and greatly enjoyed his quick wit and excellent sense of humor.
