Albert E. Dobrutsky, 82, of Lake Worth, FL, died peacefully on Saturday (July 14, 2012) surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Jennie and Sam Dobrutsky. Al and his beloved wife and soul mate, Elaine raised their family in Windsor, CT before eventually retiring to Florida. Besides his wife, he leaves his daughter and son-in-law, Shari and Scott Silverstein of Nanuet, NY, son Wayne Dobrutsky of Lake Mary, FL, and grandsons, Michael, David and Jonathan Silverstein of Nanuet, NY. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph, Louis and John Dobrutsky. He leaves to mourn him his loving sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and well as devoted life-long friends. Al was an athlete known to many as “glue fingers” for his skills in the sport of football which he played and loved. He was active in youth programs coaching midget and pony-league football teams for Hartford and Windsor. He was a proud veteran of The United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict serving in North Africa and Morocco. He was a long-time loyal employee of the Allan S. Goodman Company. Funeral services will be held at Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 12 p.m. Burial will be at Beth Hillel Cemetery in East Granby. Shiva will be observed at the home of Shari and Scott Silverstein in Nanuet, NY.
