Ann ((Kronick)) Lebed

Ann (Kronick) Lebed, 85 years of age, of Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of Bloomfield, CT and Palm Beach Gardens, FL, died Thursday, August 15, 2019. She was the widow of Hartzel Hank’ Z. Lebed. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ida (Cooper) Kronick. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Holly Lebed of Los Angeles, CA, and Jay Lebed and his wife Karin Kahn of Brookline, MA; her grandchildren Henry Lebed and Piera Lebed; and her sister Karen LaMorticella and Karen’s children Melina LaMorticella and Simona Niederberger and their families. She will also be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially the Lanes family, as well as her many friends in the Maravilla Scottsdale community and her care-giver Robin Young. She was predeceased by a son, Alex Lebed. Ann received a degree in speech pathology from Northwestern University and a master’s degree in counseling from St. Joseph’s College (now University of St. Joseph). Ann greatly appreciated the wonderful opportunities afforded by Hank’s success in business with Connecticut General Life Insurance Co. and CIGNA Corp. and enjoyed their wide-ranging business and personal travel. After his passing in 2001, Ann inspired everyone around her with the courage, determination, optimism and grace with which she faced life without her beloved Hank. Wherever Ann went she made deep friendships. She was a bright light in the lives of her family, friends and care-givers and will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Beth Hillel Memorial Park, 15 Wolcott Road, East Granby, CT with Rabbi Philip Lazowski officiating. Following the interment the family will receive relatives and friends at Avon Old Farms Inn. Evening services will be held there at 7:00pm.
