Arnold Fieldman

Dr. Arnold Fieldman, 93, passed away at his home in Bloomfield, CT with his wife and daughter at his side on March 9, 2017. Dr. Fieldman was born in Winsted, CT, on October 8, 1923 to Fred and Edith Fieldman. From an early age, Dr. Fieldman knew that he wanted to be a physician, a lifelong calling interrupted only by service to his country in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. In 1969, after 12 years of private practice, Dr. Fieldman became director of cardiology at Hartford Hospital, a position he held until his retirement. He was instrumental in developing the Cardiology Fellowship Program and is remembered by colleagues and patients for his dedication to the practice and teaching of medicine. Dr. Fieldman is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Suzanne (Striar) Fieldman, son, Seth Fieldman of Santa Cruz, CA, son, Jonathan Fieldman of Bloomfield, CT, daughter, Faith Doub of West Hartford, CT, granddaughter, Molly Doub of Cambridge, MA, and grandson, Michael Doub of Astoria, NY. The family wishes to acknowledge with gratitude the hospice services of Hartford HealthCare at Home and the loving care Dr. Fieldman received in his final months at the hands of his Angels, Donna, Julie Ann, Anna, Alcia, and Alexandria. Burial arrangements are entrusted to the Weinstein Mortuary. Shiva will be held at the Fieldman residence from 7:00 to 9:00 PM from Monday. March 13 to Wednesday, March 15.
