Arnold David Holtman, 72, of Ellington, CT, died Thursday, December 10, 2020. Born in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Max and Amy (Keyfitz) Holtman. Arnie was proud to have worked in various retail management positions for G. Fox & Co., Caldor, OfficeMax, and Staples. He also worked for over twenty years as a DJ at The Bach Dor Cafe in Chaplin, where he made lifelong friends. He enjoyed many hobbies, including photography, radio broadcasting, and music of all genres. In retirement, Arnold was dedicated to his daily regimen of swimming and was an active participant at The Ellington Senior Center. Arnie was a most charismatic and kind-hearted man and he loved his many friends and family. He is survived by his children, Joseph Holtman and his wife Lora Rath of Arlington, VA, Michael Holtman and his wife Kristin of Terryville, CT, and Allison Holtman and her husband Jacob Shemkovitz of Brooklyn, NY; his four cherished grandchildren, Madison and Owen Holtman and Eloise and Nathan Shemkovitz; and his sister, Lonnie Scheinblum of Guilford, CT. He was predeceased by his beloved brother-in-law, Michael Scheinblum. He was previously married to Rhonda Kraimer Holtman of West Hartford, CT and Laura Crane of Rockville, CT; and he maintained ongoing friendships with them both.

Private funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Piaterer Verein Society Cemetery in Wethersfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in Arnold’s memory. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary.
