Barry (J.) Goldenthal

GOLDENTHAL, Barry J. Goldenthal of Bloomfield, died Saturday,November 17, 2007 unexpectedly at Saint Francis Hospital, Hartford. He was born in Hartford, the son of Dorothy Goldenthal and the late Jack Goldenthal, of West Hartford. Barry was co-owner of New England Seating Co. along with his son, Robert. Besides his wife, Ina (Epstein) he is survived by his children, Cary Goldenthal and his wife, Lori Shapiro of Atlanta, GA, Robert Goldenthal and his wife, Darlene of South Windsor, and Michelle Janawitz and her husband, Jamie of Overland Park, KS; his sister, Joanne Shimelman and Myron Raisner of West Hartford and his brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Carol Sodafsky of Simsbury. He was known as “Poppy” to his six adoring grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, Benjamin and Sarah Goldenthal, and Jonathan and Justin Janawitz. He also leaves his loving nieces and a nephew, Jeff and his wife, Lynn Shimelman, Jodi Shimelman and Jill Sodafsky. Funeral services will be held on TODAY, November 18 at 12 noon in the Chapel of the Weinsten Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, followed by interment at Temple Beth Hillel Cemetery, So. Windsor. Shiva will be observed at the home of Barry and Ina, immediately following the funeral thru Tuesday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hebrew Home and Hospital, West Hartford, or a charity of the donors choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
