Bernice ((Basch) Spector) Tobias

Bernice (Basch) Spector Tobias, 92, of Falls Church, VA, formerly of Bloomfield, died May 31, 2017. She was the widow of Irving Spector and Harry Tobias. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Dora (Nevins) Basch.

She leaves her daughters, Laurie Spector, and husband Tony DeFonzo of Bristow, VA; Diane Guerra of Fairfax, VA; her son, Howard Spector, and wife Claudia Bohn- Spector of South Pasadena, CA; her brother, Harold Basch of Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law Bobbe Basch, of West Hartford; and three grandchildren, Sara Keith, Zachary Guerra, and Skye Spector and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Dr. Herbert Basch, and her sister, Gloria Weinstein.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, June 5, at the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, 96 Wolcott Road, East Granby, CT 06026 with Rabbi Phillip Lazowski officiating. Following the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at the home of Alan and Clarissa Basch, 98 Sand Hill Rd. Simsbury, CT.
