Beth (Schechter) Diamond

Beth Schechter Diamond, 83 years of age, of West Hartford, CT, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2017. She was the beloved wife for 59 years of S. Lee Diamond. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Solomon)Schechter. Beth is survived by her son Michael of West Hartford, CT, her Grandson Jeremy Michael Diamond, her sister, Susan Greenspan and her Husband Howard Greenspan of Scottsdale, AZ. and her beloved dog Ben. She was predeceased by her son Adam W. Diamond. She graduated from UCONN with a B.A. in Psychology and a Masters in Social work. She attained her LCSW and ACSW. She was a school Social Worker for the Bloomfield Public School system. Upon retirement she worked for 12 years as a part time therapist for Catholic Charities .She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was active in the King Philip PTO and the West Hartford Basketball League. She was also an avid reader, traveler and animal lover.

Funeral will be held in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary located on 640 Farmington Avenue, Hartford CT on Thursday December 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Beth El Temple Cemetery, 51 Jackson Street, Avon, CT. The family will receive relatives and friends at 5 Lawler Rd. West Hartford CT.
