Betty (Cohen) Rosenbloom, 89 years of age, of Bloomfield, CT and formally of Trumbull, CT, passed away on Friday, December 7, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Milton Rosenbloom. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Max and Lena (Goldfarb) Cohen.
Betty received her undergraduate degree at Brooklyn College and her masters in education at New York University. She was very proud of being inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society. She even gave her Phi Beta Kappa key to her cherished granddaughter. She taught elementary school in New York until she married her soul mate of almost 57 years and moved to CT. She then devoted her time to her family and Jewish charitable organizations. She also loved to play mahjongg with her girlfriends, do needlepoint, and in later years was an avid bridge player with her retired husband.
In addition to her husband, Betty leaves her daughter, Jacqueline Rosenbloom Bazzano and her beloved granddaughter, Marissa Lazinsk, both of West Hartford, CT.
Funeral services will take place at 1:00pm on Monday, December 10, 2018 in the Chapel of Beth El Temple, 2626 Albany Ave., West Hartford, CT with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will take place at 1:00pm on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 in the Congregation Rodeph Sholom Cemetery, 183 Kings Highway East, Fairfield, CT. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Rosenbloom home, 36 Bay Hill Drive, Bloomfield, Monday and Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beth El Temple or Congregation Rodeph Sholom.
