Beverlee “Peppy” (Rothstein) Sable, age 94, of Canton, MA formerly of Windsor, CT and Delray Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2023.
Dear daughter of the late Charles and Minnie (Rivkin) Rothstein. Loving mother of Clifford (Amy) Caplan of Sharon, MA, Cheryle (Jim) Joyce of York, ME and Naples, FL, and Peter Caplan of Verona, NJ. Cherished “Nanny Peppy” to Meredith Caplan (Russell Kling), Jonathan Caplan, Stephen Caplan, Ally (Wes) Chilson, Olivia (Michael) Benesch, Cara Caplan (Francisco Monzon), and Charles Caplan, and proud great grandmother of seven great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister Anne (Rothstein) Jaffee Schoolnick and brother Seymour Rothstein. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Peppy was born in Hartford, CT where she resided most of her life. She graduated from Weaver High School and maintained lifelong relationships with her classmates, relishing the opportunity to attend many high school reunions. She raised her children in Windsor, CT, and worked as a teacher’s aide for many years at the Naylor School in Hartford. Once she retired, Peppy moved to Delray Beach where she resided until 2019. She had a rich and fulfilling life in retirement playing bridge, going to the theater, and spending time with friends and family. Peppy was an avid reader and writer, and a patron of the arts and numerous charities.
Peppy was a pillar of strength, source of inspiration, and moral compass to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to her family. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 22, 2023 at 12pm at Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford, CT and live-streamed at:https://bit.ly/49bRANY, followed by graveside burial at Beth Alom Cemetery, 48 Allen St., New Britain, CT.
