Beverly Ames French (Gold), age 86, passed away on October 9, 2021 in Hendersonville, NC. Born in Hartford, CT, Beverly was the daughter of Harry Gold and Ida Chorches Gold. She sang with her father, whom she adored, on WTIC Radio in Hartford in the late 1940s and early 1950s.



She graduated from Weaver High School and sang in the school choir where, according to her cousin Elliott Tertes, she traveled and performed as lead vocalist. She also performed in local musical productions.In 1953, she married Russell Anzovin and started a family. They had two sons, Steven and Marshall, and resided in Wethersfield, CT. Beverly worked for the state of Connecticut and was very active in the union. Russell passed away in 1980. A few years later, she began singing again and landed the lead in a local production of “Evita”, where she met Joseph French. They eventually married and moved to Flatrock, North Carolina where Beverly worked at The Hospitality House and made many friends in the community. She had a great love for animals. Beverly is survived by her husband Joseph French; her son Marshall Ames and wife Natalie; grandchildren Russ, Benny, Raf, Miriam and Hannah; and one great grandchild, Caitlyn.Beverly is buried next to Russell at the family cemetery Share Torah on Tower Avenue in Hartford, CT.
