Cynthia Greenberg Byer, 74, of Jupiter, FL and Hartford, CT, died in Hartford on Saturday, July 29, 2006. Born on May 20, 1932, in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Edward Greenberg. Cynthia is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jonah Byer, and her three children, Cathy Kolovson and her husband Mark of West Hartford, Steve Byer and his wife Susan of Simsbury, and Julie Darnell and her husband Christopher of Newton,MA, and her six grandchildren, Eric, Emily, Jeffrey, Shayna, Gregory, and Nikki. Cynthia attended Simmons College in Boston, MA, and graduated from the University of Hartford with a degree in English. She taught English to recent immigrants to the US in a special language program. She worked several years at CPTV in the fundraising department. She devoted her life to her family who will always love her and miss her dearly. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 1st in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Stephen Fuchs officiating. Following the service, the family will receive family and friends at the home of Cathy and Mark Kolovson, in West Hartford.
