Cynthia (Dannin) Ward, 79, of West Hartford, passed away on February 21, 2022. She was the wife of David Ward. Cindy was raised in Newport, RI and was daughter of the late Dr. Frederick and Jessie (Lidman) Dannin. Cindy was a graduate of Cushing Academy, attended Russell Sage College, and graduated Beth Israel Hospital School of Nursing in Boston. She worked at Union Hospital in Fall River, Hartford Hospital, and for over 20 years at King Phillip School in West Hartford. She also worked as a nurse at the Summer Place camp. She was a long time member of Temple Beth Israel. She served on the Temple’s board of directors, a past president of the Hartford chapter of Hadassah and served it’s national board. Cindy loved to play tennis and softball. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren at 3rd beach in Newport. In addition to David, Cindy is survived by her two sons: Charles, his wife Michelle and their children Marissa and Sam, Douglas, his wife Laura and their children Jensen and Brooke. She will also be greatly missed by her brother Dr. Robert Dannin and wife Jolie Stahl, as well as many friends and family. A Graveside service was held on Wednesday February 23rd at the Beth Israel cemetery, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cindy’s memory to Congregation Beth Israel, and Alzheimer’s Association of Connecticut.
