David Cohen

David Elliott Cohen died on Thursday, May 16th, 2019 at Hartford Hospital after a long battle with cancer. He was born on October 15th, 1944 in South Windsor, CT, to Harry and Ethel Cohen. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Gail Cohen. He was a lifetime resident of South Windsor and lived on the Old Main Street family farm for decades. He earned his undergraduate teaching degree from Central Connecticut State University, and a Ph.D. in law from Western New England Law School. David had a strong interest in local and national politics and served on the South Windsor Board of Education and on the Town Council. He was passionate about playing cards especially with his childhood SW friends. He loved his many regular trips to Saint Maarten. He enjoyed & was known for, his gourmet abilities in the kitchen. He is survived by his three children, Cheryl Cohen of South Windsor, Cynthia Zujko of Olympia, WA, and Marc Cohen of Shoreline, WA. He has 4 grandchildren, Isaac and Aliyah Gonzalez of South Windsor and Ella and Beck Cohen of Shoreline, WA. The family will commemorate his life at a private gathering in July.
