Eileen Brown Weiblen 73 passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday March16, 2016 at her home. She was born in Hartford on July 9, 1942 to the late Cheaphas and Sophie Frank Brown. She graduated from Farmington High School in 1960 and received her nursing diploma from the New Britain Hospital School of Nursing in 1963 after which she began her 26-year career as a registered nurse. Her career spanned many nursing disciplines ranging from newborn infants to geriatrics. Her peers considered her an outstanding professional both in her knowledge and application of nursing skills as well as the compassion she showed for each of her patients. She was a member of Sweet Adelines and participated in some 12 International competitions as a member of the Farmington Valley and Sound of New England Choruses, In high school she was on the varsity Field Hockey team and was selected to be a member of the Connecticut All State Chorus because of her vocal talents. She was a member of the Congregation Beth Israel in West Hartford and active in Sisterhood for many years.
She is survived by her husband William A. Weiblen, her son Peter M. Weiblen of Narragansett, RI, her daughter Elizabeth E. Weiblen with Randall W. Johnson of Avon and brother Melvin Brown and his wife Joan of Burlington as well as grandchildren Catriana and Jaelle Hersey, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 21, 2016 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi Michael Pincus officiating. Interment will follow in Beth Israel Cemetery, Jackson St. Ext., Avon. Following the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Andrew Sandler; 55 Copley Rd; South Glastonbury, CT 06073.
