With profound sadness, we mourn the passing of Eleanor Udolf, beloved wife of the late Leonard Udolf of West Hartford, CT. She passed away peacefully on October 23, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her children. Born in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Molly Hoffman. She graduated from Weaver High School and the University of Bridgeport Fones School of Dental Hygiene. She was a longstanding member of Congregation Beth Israel in West Hartford, CT.

To Eleanor, family was everything. Her love for her husband, Leonard, was matched only by her devotion to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Known to all as “Ellie,” she will always be remembered as the first and last one on the dance floor.

Eleanor will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and “Grammie.” She leaves her daughter, Elise Udolf of Manhattan, NY; son, Robert Udolf and his wife Danielle Udolf of West Hartford, CT; daughter, Susan Goldenberg and her husband Jeffrey Goldenberg of Scarsdale, NY; daughter, Nancy Schwartz and her husband Dr. Theodore Schwartz of Scarsdale, NY; fourteen adoring grandchildren: Matthew (Laurey), Andrew (Yen), Alexa (Zach), Samantha (Evan), Claudia (Mack), Dylan, Danny, Josh, Julia, Ryan, Jonathan, Benjamin, Jenna and Ali; and four great-grandchildren: Kirby, Ira, Asher and Bennett.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 at 11:00 am at Congregation Beth Israel, 701 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT with Rabbi Michael Pincus officiating. Interment will follow at Congregation Beth Israel Cemetery, 51 Jackson Street, Avon, CT. Following the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at Congregation Beth Israel from 1:00pm-3:00pm.
