It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Erik David Siegal, 46, of West Hartford, on August 27. Born on November 24 in Hartford, Erik was the beloved son of Barry and Judith (Beck) Siegal. He is survived by his sons Hayden and Camden, and Elizabeth (Fisher) Siegal. Erik loved his boys with all his heart, relished in their accomplishments and was in amazement at how fast they were growing up. Erik most recently was CEO of Siegal Transportation. He could befriend anyone – he was warm, funny, appreciated a good prank or joke. We will forever miss his presence and spirit. He is also survived by his sister Heidi Siegal Kogon (Steve) and brother Jed Siegal (Rachel). Uncle Erik will forever be missed by his nephews Tyler and Henry Siegal. He also leaves behind his life-long friends – many of whom were like family – all who will miss him dearly. Erik will be laid to rest on Monday (Aug. 30) at 1 p.m. in a graveside service at Emanuel Cemetery (1361 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield). Immediately following internment, the family will receive friends at Emanuel Synagogue (160 Mohegan Drive, West Hartford). All social distancing and COVID-19 masking protocols will be followed. A virtual Shiva will be held Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday evening following Emanuel’s evening Minyan Service through Zoom. In lieu of flowers, a scholarship fund for Hayden and Camden will be established. Details to follow in the coming weeks.
