Etta (Gordon) Dubrow

Etta (Gordon) DuBrow, 103, of West Hartford, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at home. She was the widow of Paul W. DuBrow. Born in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Tanner) Gordon. She was a member of the Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford for over 75 years. She held leadership roles in the Sisterhood of the Emanuel Synagogue, a life member and past officer of the Hartford Chapter of Hadassah, and involved in leadership of programs in Youth Aliyah. She leaves her children, Muriel DuBrow Wolf, M.D. and her husband, Richard of Washington, DC, and Edward L. DuBrow, M.D. and his wife Cynthia of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Anne Armour Wolf, M.D. and her husband, Dr. Richard Wehby of Boston, MA, Jennifer Wolf Nemerson and her husband Dr. Steven Nemerson of Bryn Mawr, PA, Elizabeth M. DuBrow of Phoenix, AZ, and Andrea I. DuBrow and her husband Paul Buddenhagen of Oakland, CA; and four great-grandchildren, Julie Sierra Nemerson and Nicole Sarah Nemerson, Langston Isaac Buddenhagen and Gideon Nate Buddenhagen. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 18, 2008 at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi David J. Small and Cantor Sanford Cohn officiating. Interment will follow in the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield. A Memorial Period will be observed at her home, 1248 Farmington Ave., Apt. A-5, West Hartford on Friday following the funeral, Saturday evening from 6:00 PM with a minyan at 7:00 PM, and Sunday from 2:00 PM with a minyan at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Etta and Paul DuBrow Endowment Fund at the Emanuel Synagogue, 160 Mohegan Dr., West Hartford 06117.
