Freda (Jaffe) Bernstein

BERNSTEIN, Freda (Jaffe) Hartstein Bernstein, 89 years of age, of West Hartford died Monday, April 12, 2010. She was the widow of Arnold Hartstein and Irvin E. Bernstein. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Zalman and Anna Jaffe. Freda taught in the Bloomfield Public School System before she retired. She was a member of Beth El Temple of West Hartford, Hadassah and ORT. She leaves two sons, Allan Hartstein and his wife Phyllis of Chappaqua, NY, and David Hartstein of West Hartford; two grandsons, Jonathan Hartstein, and Marc Hartstein; and a brother, Morton Jaffe and his wife Betsy of New York, NY. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth Alom Cemetery, Allen St., New Britain.
