Gerald (B.) Kent

Gerald B. Kent, 96 years of age, of Edina, MN died Thursday, December 13, 2018. He was the husband of the late Beatrice Kent, late Ethel Kent, and the beloved companion of Rhoda Steinberg. Born in New York, NY, he was the son of the late David and Lena (Novick) Krimsky. Gerald received his BA degree from Brooklyn College, and was a veteran of WW II with the Army Air Forces. He was employed in the cigar business for 60 years, and worked for Consolidated Cigar, General Cigar, and Altadis during that time. Gerald was a resident of Bloomfield CT from 1958 until 2016, and a long standing member of Congregation Beth Israel and the Connecticut Freemasons. He leaves his son and daughter in law, Robert (Victoria) Kent of Edina, MN; his granddaughter, Elizabeth (Benjamin) Aaron of Irvine, CA; and two great-grandsons; step-children Shelley (Robin) Samuels, Michael (Jan) Kent, and Carol S. Kent of California, and niece Jody Freedman of California. Gerald and Beatrice Kent were predeceased by their son Jeffrey H. Kent.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Beth Israel Cemetery, corner of Ward and Affleck Streets, Hartford with Rabbi Michael Pincus officiating. Following the interment the family will receive relatives and friends at the home of Rhoda Steinberg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
