Geraldine (Croog) Geyer

Geraldine (Croog) Geyer, 89, of West Hartford, formerly of Newington, died Monday, May 7, 2012. She was the widow of both Murray Kramer and Milton Geyer. Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Harry I. and Rose Croog. Geraldine often spoke of her work as a secretary at the Culinary Institute of America. She cherished time with her family and close friends and enjoyed cooking, knitting and volunteering. She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Leslie Geetter and her sister, Anita Soybel. She leaves her sister, Kaila Margolis of Hamden, son-in-law, Allan Geetter of Simsbury; son, Ronald Massey and his wife Carol of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Jennifer Hirsch and her husband Matthew, Melissa Melnick and her husband Mark, Amy Raider and her husband Adam, Sherrie Massey and her husband Donald Jordan, and Robert Massey and his wife Tabitha; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Gabrielle and Julia Hirsch, Nathan Melnick, Evelyn Raider, Brittanie and Brandon Massey, and Joshua and Jaden Massey. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartford Mutual Society Cemetery, Wolcott Rd., East Granby. The family will receive relatives and friends at the home of Allan Geetter, 19 Windham Dr., Simsbury on Thursday, May 10, 2012 with services taking place at 7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill 06067.
