Gilbert Flaum

Gilbert Ronald Flaum, age 92, of Manchester, CT, passed away on May 1, 2019. Born July 18, 1926 in The Bronx, NY, son of Soloman and Bella Flaum. He later settled in Willimantic, CT after serving in the armed forces. Gil, aka “Papa”, was predeceased by his parents and brother Alfred Flaum. He is survived by his wife, Estelle Flaum, his children; Paula Thompson and husband Charlie, Howard Flaum, Robin Wolf and husband Marc. He leaves behind six grandchildren; Scott Thompson and wife Heather, Brian Thompson, Dustin Flaum H-60Divi U.S. Navy and wife Bethany, Chelsea Flaum, Max Wolf, and Michael Wolf. Also, three great-grandchildren; Colby, Kylie, and Sawyer Thompson. In addition, there are many nieces and nephews who meant so much to him. His family would like to thank all his friends and neighbors who were there for him and to the doctors and nurses that kept him with us for many years. He will be dearly missed. The funeral will be grave side on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 1:00 PM, at the Columbia/Hebron cemetery located at the junction of CT Route 31 & 32 which is 227 Stafford Road, Mansfield CT 06250.
