Goldie (Greenspon Cohen) Bernstein

BERNSTEIN, Goldie (Greenspon) Cohen Bernstein, 96 years of age, of West Hartford died on Thursday, December 10, 2009. She was the widow of Philip P. Cohen and Abraham Bernstein. Goldie was born in Hartford on June 14, 1913, daughter of the late Louis and Eva (Edlin) Greenspon. She was a bookkeeper for Bernstein Brothers Garage and Connecticut Hairdressing School. She was a very loving, caring person with all her family and friends. She was a lifetime member of Hadassah and served as a volunteer for many years. Goldie is survived by her sons Richard Cohen and his wife Sylviajean, and Robert Cohen; her granddaughter, Pamela Begin and her husband John; and her great -grandchildren, Cole and Holly. Goldie also leaves her sisters-in-law, Lucille Strouch and Irene Kaplan, and brothers-in-law, Bernard Cohen and his wife Ruth, and Murray Cohen; and a very special friend, Lillian Colavecchio. The family would like to thank Joyce Crane and Stacy Smith for their special care-giving. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, Wolcott Rd., East Granby. Following the interment, the family will receive relatives and friends at her home, 11 Hamlin Dr., West Hartford. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor?s choice.
