Harriet (Wallace) Chinitz

Harriet (Wallace) Chinitz, 84, of Cold Spring Road, Avon, widow of Martin I. Chinitz, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Mary (Weitzman) Wallace. She was a founding member of Beth El Temple, West Hartford, a member of its Sisterhood, and a life member of ORT. She leaves a son, Attorney Stephen S. Chinitz and his wife Gail of Avon; a daughter Susan Miller and her husband Daniel of West Hartford; three grandchildren: Abbe Miller and her fiancé Adam Hrebiniak, Eric Miller and his wife Christy, and Nathan Chinitz; and a sister Isobel Friedman of Venice, FL. Funeral services will be held on FRIDAY, March 21, 2008 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., Hartford with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in the Beth El Temple Cemetery, Avon. Shiva will be observed at the home of her son, 95 Cold Spring Road, Avon.
