Herbert (J.) Glasser

Herbert J. Glasser, 83, of West Hartford, died Friday (September 28, 2012). He was born in Brooklyn, NY and he was the son of the late Sigmund and Hilda Glasser. Herbert attended Brooklyn Tech High School and City College of New York where he received a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked most of his life as a Civil Engineer at Unroyal until he retired. Herbert was a US Army veteran of the Korean conflict from 1951-1953. He leaves his wife, Ann (Friedman) Glasser of Hamden; his daughter, Susan Glasser and her husband Adriel Kramer of West Hartford; his brother, Arthur Glasser and his wife Ruth of Washington Township, NJ; and two grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Kramer. Funeral services for the family will be held Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 12 noon at Temple Sinai Memorial Park, 41 West Hartford Rd., Newington 06111 with Rabbi Jeffrey Bennett officiating. A memorial period will be observed at the home of his daughter, Susan, at 128 Westmont Street, West Hartford, Sunday following the interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hebrew Health Hospice, 2 Wintonbury Mall, Bloomfield, CT 06002. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford.
