Janet (Cohen) Zimmerman

Janet (Cohen) Zimmerman 82 years of age of West Hartford died peacefully Friday March 30 2018. Born in New Haven she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Sarah (Allinson) Cohen. A graduate of Hillhouse High School in New Haven Janet went on to graduate from the University of Hartford with a a degree in Education. She taught first grade for the US Army school system in Germany and later was a docent at the Noah Webster House in West Hartford. Her love of education extended to everyone she touched. She leaves her husband Richard Zimmerman M.D.; her son Glenn Zimmerman and his wife Shay of Tampa FL; her brothers Ronald Cohen and his wife Judy of NJ and Michael Cohen and his wife Phyllis of PA; and her grandchildren Coen and Eden Zimmerman.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday April 2 2018 in the Chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary 640 Farmington Ave. Hartford with Rabbi James Rosen officiating. Interment will follow in Beth El Temple Cemetery Jackson St. Ext. Avon.
