Jean (Radisch) Golden, 89, of Hamilton Heights, West Hartford, widow of Samuel Golden, died Wednesday (March 26, 2008). Born on November 27, 1918 in Hartford, she was the daughter of Nathan and Celia Radisch from the USSR. She was raised on Love Lane, Hartford and graduated from Weaver High School. She also lived on Woodland and Cabot Streets in Hartford and Hilldale Rd. in West Hartford. She was employed at Allen Manufacturing in Hartford. She was a life member of Hadassah where she was a volunteer for Trees for Israel, a life member of the Auxiliary of the Hebrew Home & Hospital, and a member of United Synagogues of Greater Hartford and its Sisterhood, as well as Beth David Synagogue, West Hartford. She also spent many years as a volunteer at Hartford Hospital. Jean enjoyed hosting family members and friends at her home for Thanksgiving, Passover and other holidays. Her favorite pastimes were sitting on Old Colony Beach and dancing with Sam. She was a contributor to numerous charities. She leaves two sons: Donald Golden and his wife Robbin of West Hartford, and George Golden of New York, NY; a daughter: Barbara Spaulding of Lake Luzerne, NY; son-in-law, David Spaulding; and four grandchildren: Amy Golden and her husband Mark Tsai, Michael Golden, Evan Golden and Devin Spaulding. A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 30, at 10:30 a.m. in the United Synagogues of Greater Hartford Cemetery, Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield with Rabbi Edward Cohen officiating. A memorial period will be observed at the home of her son, Donald, 52 Parsons Dr., West Hartford 06117 Sunday following the funeral.
