Jeanette (Purzycki) Filkoff

FILKOFF, Jeanette Frances (Purzycki) Filkoff, 90, of West Hartford, died on Sunday, (December 25, 2011). She was the widow of Isadore Filkoff. She was born November 4, 1921, in Hartford, the daughter of Boleslaw and Anna (Hwaszewski) Purzycki. She leaves her children, Alvin, David and Cynthia Filkoff; her son-in-law, Armand De Biase; her grandchildren, Sefira Fialkoff and Alex and Michael Di Biase. One of seven children, she leaves her surviving sister, Adele Mazzie and her husband, Henry. During World War II, she worked at Royal Typewriter. She was an active member of the Beth David Synagogue Sisterhood and an avid bowler. Jeanette enjoyed spending summers at Old Colony Beach. She was a well loved teacher’s aide at the Carmen Arace Middle School in Bloomfield. Graveside services will be held at United Synagogues of Greater Hartford Cemetery, John Oates Avenue (formerly Mahl Ave.) At 2:30 Tuesday, December 27, 2011.
