Jerome Gilson

Jerome Gilson of West Hartford, passed away on March 12th, just two months after his wife Harriet (nee Oren) of 65 years who was the love of his life. He held a deep and abiding love for family and commitment to home. He exemplified "family first" through his involvement with his three daughters; Natalie (Chris) Flanagan, Stacy(who preceded him in death) Dunoff (Keith) , Jill (Jeff) Shavitz, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and his nieces and nephews.

Jerome was a captivating man and his presence was always felt amongst others. Being a pharmacist for most of his life , he cared deeply about comforting those around  him and making them feel better. He had a lifelong love of simple pleasures and his ability to find joy in the "little things" were qualities that helped define him.

He was a lover of all sports and an active participant in golf and tennis throughout most of his life. He will be missed by all who knew him and will always be remembered for his caring and compassionate nature which left a lasting impression on all of the lives he touched.

A private graveside service was held.  Donations in Jerome's memory may be made to the Israel Tennis and Education Centers Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
